What We Do
Scouting has been available in Freuchie since 1909, making this our 110th year! Children from Freuchie and neighbouring villages have had the chance to experience the Great Outdoors and learn new skill due to countless hours given by dedicated volunteers.
Scouting is the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. We offer fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.
Over the last 12 months, activities in the Group have included Abseiling, Climbing, Camping, Cooking, Crafting, Cycling, Fire Lighting, First Aiding, Kayaking, and Skating.
There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world.
We currently have 3 very active sections – Beavers, Cubs and Scouts covering ages from 6 to 14. Each Beaver/Cub/Scout is currently asked to pay £25 each term (4 terms per year) towards the running costs for each section, the Group and annual Scout Association membership fee. Camps and other specific activities are charged separately.
Scouting is a uniformed organisation so all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are required to wear uniform. This roughly costs £12 for Beavers and Cubs, and £30 for Scouts.
ASDA, Bear Scotland, MORRISONS, TESCO, The Big Lottery Fund, The Scottish Scout Development Fund and Cupar Round Table have all supported Freuchie Scout Group over recent years and their help is greatly appreciated.
